The TAN Digital Clocks have been updated to show the Top 10 Fastest Men and Women.

Run the TAN has been working closely with Bennelong Foundation and City of Melbourne to develop a formal process to update the tan digital clocks to recognise the latest official top 10 fastest men and women times around the Tan.

The current record holder for the fastest lap around The TAN is Craig Mottram with a blazing time of 10 minutes and 8 seconds, ran in 2006. He set this record whilst running with the Richmond Football Club during their pre-season training. Mottram gave the footballers a two-and-a-half minute head start and still managed to beat them comprehensively.

The current female record holder for the fastest lap around the Tan is Gen Gregson in a time of 11 minutes and 54 seconds on 24 March 2020.

The two digital clocks were installed at Melbourne’s iconic Tan Track in 2011 to help runners and walkers record their lap times as they make their way around the ‘Tan’. They were a gift from the Bennelong Foundation to the City of Melbourne to inspire and encourage Melbournians and visitors alike to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Although Victoria is currently in stage 4 lock-down due to COVID-19 we hope that the updated digital clocks and these amazing times will continue to motivate those lucky people who can still exercise at the Tan and for everyone else once the restrictions are lifted.
